Our flagship tour is an exploration of Melbourne’s Jewish heartland, St Kilda and Balaclava. Many of the area’s best-loved bakeries and cafes have stories of migration, refuge, and Jewish identity behind them. Recipes from across Europe, which travelled in the hearts and memories of Holocaust survivors were able to come alive and breathe new life into the cultural landscape of post-war Melbourne. From bread to cake, the essence and joy of life, laid the foundations to Jewish Melbourne.
